Students who have paid their admission fees are requested to kindly wait for the Welcome Kit to be sent shortly by the Institute, which will include all necessary details about the admission process, document verification, and orientation, etc. Orientation & Registration Dates are as under: –
  • PG & Ph.D : 19–20 July 2025
  • *commencement of classes (PG and PhD): 24 July*

Apply for Online registration to the Spot Round admission for M. Tech. Programmes
Eligibility for Participation:
  • Only those candidates who have already applied in that particular programme at IIT Delhi.
  • Only those candidates who meet the approved shortlisting criteria for that particular Programme for this semester.
  • Only those candidates who have NOT accepted any seat in any round of COAP-2025 at IIT/IISc.
Step 1: Online registration to the Spot Round (13.07.2025 (Midnight) to 14.07.2025 (11:59 hrs)
  • The candidates fulfilling the above eligibility conditions may register for the spot round admission by filling the Online registration form. Online registration form link for participation in the admission process will be made available here on 12.07.2025.
  • The candidates are NOT allowed to change their programme preference indicated in their original application to IITD.
Step 2 : Selection:
  • Selection will be based on the basis of GATE score subject to the condition of meeting the requisite CGPA/percentage and minimum GATE score as per approved shortlisting criteria. Approved shortlisting criteria along with the number of seats allocated to the Spot Round will be updated here by 12.07.2025.
  • First selection list of the candidates will be uploaded here on 16.07.2025 (latest by 2.00 p.m.).
  • A second selection list will be uploaded here on 17.07.2025 if vacant seats against any Programme are remaining.
Step 3 : Offer Letter and Payment of Fee:
  • Selected candidates will be sent the offer letter on 16.07.2025 and they will have to deposit the fee on the same date, failing which admission offer will stand cancelled.
  • Selected candidates for second selection list will be sent the offer letter on 17.07.2025, if required. The candidate will have to deposit the fee on the same date, failing which admission offer will stand cancelled.
No request for extension in time and date of fee payment will be entertained in any circumstances considering that the registration process for the new batch is scheduled on 19.07.2025.
The candidates are advised to keep all the documents including a valid photo ID, and fee ready for this admission session.

Allotment of a hostel seat is done only after generation of Entry Number (communicated through Welcome Kit). Students do not need to approach for this. For the eligible category, IIT Delhi takes care of hostel allotment (post Entry Number generation). Only after payment of applicable charges within the given time window, the hostel seat will be confirmed. Students can onboard in the hostels 1–2 days before registration/orientation. Eligibility:

– UG/MSc/MA Students may be allotted a seat on priority (sharing basis only).

– PG/Ph.D Students (Full Time only): There is a severe hostel crunch in the campus due to which it is NOT possible to provide hostel accommodation to postgraduate (PG) students (including PhD). However, the Institute strives to provide a hostel seat (on sharing basis only), if available, to admitted female students, students with special needs (SwD – Students with Disabilities, formally admitted as PwD) and foreign nationals.

Hence, it is to be noted that the offer of admission at IIT Delhi does not guarantee on-campus accommodation. The best support, pertaining to accommodation, is in form of providing the contact information of some off-campus accommodation that may be available within walking distance of the campus. Please note that these off-campus accommodations, if available, operate independent of IIT Delhi. Further, while staying off-campus, there are provisions for making one of our on-campus messes available to students for food on monthly subscription basis.
