Hostels

Hostel life at IIT Delhi is an integral part of the student experience, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community. The hostels provide not just accommodation but also a space for personal growth, camaraderie, and lifelong friendships. Each hostel is equipped with essential amenities, including dining facilities, common rooms, and recreational areas, ensuring a comfortable and enriching environment. The hostels are named after hill-rages of India and they are Aravali, Girnar, Himadri, Jwalamukhi, Kailash, Karakoram, Kumaon, Nilgiri, Satpura, Shivalik, Udaigiri, Vindhyachal and Zanskar. Hostel mess has a good menu well suited for students from various cultures.  Most items on the menu are vegetarian and non-veg food is available on some days separately paid. There are no facilities for self-cooking. IITD also have various food outlets spread all over campus to satisfy our hunger pangs. There are food delivery services available from restaurants outside the campus to enjoy exquisite dishes.  Numerous cultural and sports events, both intra and inter hostels keep the students engaged through the year. These also provide an excellent opportunity to bond with fellow students in the hostels and many of these friendships continue long after students have graduated.
