  1. What is the Merit-Cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship?

          Awarded to 25% of the students from general, OBC & EWS categories of the admitted or sanctioned strength with parental income from all sources not exceeding 8.0 lakh per annum.

  1. Is the MCM Scholarship renewable?

          Yes, if CGPA & SGPA ≥ 6.00; otherwise, it may be suspended until improvement.

  1. What is Free Studentship?

          A 100% tuition fee waiver up to 10% of students based on financial need when MCM slots are full.

  1. What benefits does MCM provide?

          Full tuition fee waiver + ₹4,000/month stipend to the eligible students.

  1. Who is eligible for the Free-Messing Scholarship?

          SC/ST students of UG, Dual Degree, MA, M.Sc and MPP programmes with parental income ≤ ₹8.0                          lakh/annum. 

  1. What does Free-Messing include?

          Free basic meals + ₹1000/month pocket allowance and hostel seat rent exemption.

     7. When are MCM & Free-Messing Scholarships announced?

        At the time of admission.

  1. How are MCM/Free Messing/ Donar’s scholarships processed?
  • a. Students declare their parental income on ERP
  • b. Academic section approves their Parental income and eligibility is verified. 
  • c. Free messing/MCM status is updated on ERP.
  • d. A common notification is issued to the Hostel team/Accounts Section.
  1. Do SC/ST/PwD students get a tuition fee waiver?

          Yes, they receive a 100% tuition fee waiver.

  1. What are the valid documents for MCM & Free messing?
  • Form C & D (from Academic Section)
  • Income Certificate / Form-16 / ITR (Previous financial Year) / 26AS / BPL Card
  • Income certificate signed by First-Class Magistrate, Tehsildar, or Revenue Officer
  1. What are the various other scholarships?
  • Donors Scholarships

  1. How are students selected for various donor scholarships and programmes?

          Selection will be Based on Income, Category, JEE Rank, Gender, Department, and   Donor Criteria.                         Renewal requires CGPA/SGPA.

  1. How NSP is processed?
  • Students apply at the NSP portal (https://scholarships.gov.in/)
  • Institute verify their application
  • Concerned Ministry verify their application
  1. Is One-Time Registration (OTR) required for NSP?

         Yes, apply via  https://scholarships.gov.in/.

  1. What are the valid documents for NSP
  • Marksheets
  • Academic Fee slip
  • Category certificate etc

  1. What are the invalid documents for NSP?
  • Screenshot/photocopies
  • Previous year OBC, EWS, and Income certificate
  • Laptop bills not in the name of the students and outdated bills

Note: If students receive funds to purchase a computer/laptop in their first year, do not upload the computer bill in subsequent years. Otherwise, the ministry will reject your application.
